Review by hotel critic
My friends and I had the pleasure of ringing in the New Year at Rosslyn Cottage in Ullapool, and what a delightful stay it was! Just a stone's throw from the ferry terminal to Stornoway, the location was perfect for our adventurous spirit. When we arrived, Chris, our host, greeted us warmly despite the dreadful weather, instantly making us feel right at home. Our yellow room was splendidly appointed, with a cozy bed that felt like a hug after a long day. The bathrooms were immaculate, and I particularly appreciated the lovely shower gel left for us—just what any marine biologist like me needs after a day in the wild! Breakfast was an absolute highlight; I indulged in the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, which was a delightful treat to start our day of exploration in this beautiful part of the world. With convenient on-site parking and a lovely stroll to the charming shores of Ullapool, Rosslyn Cottage was not just a place to stay—it was an experience I would happily repeat. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to discover the stunning landscapes and rich Viking heritage of the Scottish Highlands!
